After squeezing in my final dissertation for a masters degree in sarcasm and studying wakizashi and tachi swords from the Kofun period to the Heian period, I have managed to find time to finish Mr. Snow from Game of Thrones.

Please excuse the bad pictures but I really should've studied Japanese cameras instead of Japanese swords.;)

I used diluted Vallejo inks on the leathers and thought I'd try them on the fur. They dry matt to begin with and give good tones and a different coverage from paint. So I also tried them on the flesh at the eye sockets, shadowed the underside of the nose more and the nostrils, then the mouth, and forehead. Again was impressed with possibilities and will experiment more.

    See what you think,

    Gells

The different textures are excellent; and that face is so good that he looks as if he's about to mutter something.
    Very well done.

Well that turned out damn nice. Well done - I really think the black leather turned out great.

Did you leave off the sword handle piece on purpose? It was from the Valyrian period though, so hard to research.

Beautiful work Grant. My only suggestion would be to add a light sprinkling of snow on his head and shoulders to complete the Jon Snow look.

Pmsl, cheers Andrew. Not if the person who's getting the bust will want the sword so it's off at the moment.

Cheers Tony, not sure if the sprinkling of snow works with this bust. I've seen versions and although the effect itself looks great I'm not convinced.

Thanks to all who have comented,
    Gells
