Picked this up at Ingolstadt for a real keen price.
This has got to be the best metal casting in this scale I have seen since the days of Ray lamb stuff .
B Leibovitz has reached a pinnacle with this one , detail is superb .

Really looking forward to this one; its a 5th hussar but I might change the uniform colour .

Its so good Bob its a shame to put paint on him :) might buy a second one and just antique it up using an old technique Julian Bennasi showed me in the last century :D

    Hi Ron,

I too have this beauty in my grey army. It is an excellent figure.

I can hardly wait to see you work your magic on him. If possible please do a step by step as you progress through with this one. I know it is a lot of work to photograph and preparing posts for the SBS but it will be a big help and inspiration for me ;)

    Cheers

Bruno is maybe the best for this figures.
I painted a trumpeter of the hussars and it whas also a very stunning sharp casted figure.
In my humble opinion you gonna get the best out if it Ron.
Looking forward to the pictures of the finished figure.

That figure was inspired but a mannequin in the Emperi Museum:

By the way, note how dark is the "light blue" uniform.

And I agree, it's an excellent figure. If only Mr Leibovitz released more 90mm...

Someone said on Saturday "I must work in the garden now" - I hope it pours down so we can see this one progress instead.

What do you think of the picture with the blue

That is a bloody good figure indeed and the casting quality is on par with PM's. Something not that often seen today.

    Good catch!

Good query about the blue. The MM 54mm standing hussar officer with pipe has a lighter shade of blue. This is also 5th regiment but the museum uniform is a darker blue but is this due to shading or lighting? I think the shade on the cheapskate might be the one which I'd use.

    Cheers
