    Hey again folks,

It's time to call this one done and move on to the next, onwards and upwards:)

Officer 72nd Highlanders, Indian Mutiny 1858. Stormtroopers V12 range (1/12 scale). I used oils over acrylic undercoats and he was a veritable pleasure to paint.

It was my first attempt at NMM and I'm quite pleased with the result considering I didn't really know what I was doing and just bumbled my way through it (like I normally do). I'd be keen to know what you think of the NMM, and also what should've been done differently.

Anyhoo, enough burbling, here are the pics:

Here's the WiP thread if you're interested.

Many thanks for tuning in, and also for the valuable feedback on the WiP thread. As always, comments and critique are very welcome :D

Very good Billy, I like the nice subdued tones you've used.

    Thanks Roger (y)

I've been consciously trying to tone down my colours after finally realising that the world is actually a lot greyer than we think. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now, still a way to go though ;)

I have just finished a bust and did the gold braid in NMM but did the brass work in metallic.
    Yours is very good.(y)

    Excellent work, special the NMM.
Maybe on the highest points a not clear white. The highest colors looks all the same. Some spots to bring it more out.

Cheers Marc, I see what you mean about the highest lights, especially on the braiding. I'll have a look at them tonight. Thanks for the feedback my friend (y)

    Thanks again Bob (y)

I started on the buttons, then the braiding and finally the buckle and, after looking more closely at the photos I can see the difference in the paintwork. I'm a lot happier with the buckle than I am with the other two areas. I'll try and bring them up a notch tonight following Marc's suggestion about highlights.

Thanks Chris, I can confirm that he was indeed a nice figure to paint and I highly recommend snapping one up if you can still get your hands on one (and any of the other V12 busts too).
