    Hi all.

I'm happily blaming kenshin393 for me signing up after he helped my research by posting a question on the forum here. I thought it polite to sign up and say thank you and stick around and learn some more.

I've more years of painting under my belt than I want to admit, but up until the past couple of years it was restricted with GW stuff. Though now I've tried busts, brands I'd never heard of, and other scales too. And I want more. I've even been tempted to try some historical pieces too and this year I'm going to.

So thank you for having me and I look forward to seeing your creations.

P.s. ignore the q in the title. I really need a new mobile.

Many thanks. It'll be fantasy/sci-fi for a little while but other stuff is on the planning list.

Historicalq is a word. It's when you work out how long you've been painting something and realise you should've been doing something else.

Is there really other things? And another five minutes won't hurt...

I sure will be. Need to work more on the Orc Pilot bust from my profile picture. I know it's more fantasy but I'm using WWII pilots as reference.

Here's all the pieces I managed to finish last year, including my first finished bust (Tooth Fairy from Broken Toad), and my first 70mm piece (Alien by Nocturna Models).

And this is a selection of the pieces I have prepared for 2016. More busts and larger scales. Though is doesn't show the purchase plan which has a Samurai bust from Young Miniatures, a few pieces by Romain Van Den Bogaert, and very possibly some Pegaso, Alexandros, and Andrea historical bits. Though I'm a fairly slow painter (ignore the speed painted zombie in the photo above).

I'd be tempted to have another go at Tooth Fairy (if there wasn't so many other great pieces I want to try). Attempt the more film special effects look with some spotting (can't remember the proper term), underpainting, and get a more monstrous look to the skin that my blue/grey one. Still happy with it but the scale jump did put me out of my comfort zone after years of 28-32mm.

You handled it well . I was thinking of using a shimmering paint on the wings we will have to see.

There were some really good ones in the competition for it. Especially the mottled look on Luke's one (pretty sure they're all still on the Broken Toad Facebook page). And I'm sure you'll do Giorgos' sculps justice.

Ok, I have my first historical bust finally. And I now understand why Young Miniatures seem so popular.
More on this once I've finished up a few other bits.
