Very nice paintjob. The facial likeness is not very close to the boyish look of Erich Hartmann IMHO.

According to the facebook page link in your post the sculptor is Benoit Cauchies. Do you have information about the prices and where these figures can be ordered from?

    Cheers, Martin

Mike - excellent work as usual. Particularly like the face work on a fair skinned chap; great blending!

I have several of these pilot figures (WW1 and WW2) and they are all really excellent. The ones sculpted by Nino are the best. I have ordered directly from David Allen - great service. This is the e-mail I last used:

Understand your point Martin, ref likeness it could be more about my painting than Benoit's sculpt ;)
As Adrien mentioned contact David Allen, Wings Cockpit owner directly on davidallen_afbs@hotmail.com
He will help you for sure.

Thanks for taking time to post, Erich Hartmann is an inspirational fighter pilot without doubt.

Good to hear your thoughts Adrien, thanks.
Benoit's figures are finely crafted so definitely worth checking out.
Nino's too are super little characters.

Also grateful to you for adding further contact info for David :)

The detail you've managed to paint on a 1/32nd scale face is excellent.

    Cheers,

Mike IMHO you are too humble about your painting skills. I like the way you supported the facial features with your paintstyle.
The pictures of the original master might show what I mean and serve as another proof for your great painting abilities. Of course they are as well a proof for the good quality B. Cauchies is able to deliver but I guess likeness in this scale is not easy to acchieve.

Thanks for the contact info to get these very nice figures. E. Hartmann was quite a character - due to his unwillingness to be political correct he is unfortunately over here in Germany not in the way remembered he deserves.

    Cheers mate!

    Hi Martin,

    Too kind mate!

I'm working on another German Flying icon, father of air tactics - Oswald Boelcke
Benoit sculpting on the likeness is incredible in a small 1/32
If I can do half as well as his sculpting I'll be happy.
    More soon...

Ref Erich Hartmann, I'm guessing surviving after shooting down 351 planes by the time you are 25 meant he was never, ever goin to be someone that let others tell him what to do.
I'd say that experience was hard to forget sadly.

    Stay safe,
    Mike

Well done Mike! Recognize your signature style on this little project. I especially like the way you handled Bubi's leather jacket and boots.

Happy 2016 to you & your family Joe.
Thanks as always. I do enjoy exploring how to better represent leathers.
Working on article with latest project on this subject.
This will be helpful in reflecting on how to go about painting these.

Attached photos on dark background for consideration.
Originally intended to use this but had to overexpose it so leathers look more brown than they actually are.

    Stay safe,
    Mike
