This is an old Ft. Duquesne figure of a Scots Guardsman on parade circa 1980. It was a fun little paint job. Not a lot to it but quick and easy paint. I tried directional lighting on the figure. didn't quite work out on the whole but a couple of places it worked out well.

No face to speak of on the figure but a simple uniform study. Painted in acrylics.

    Off to the next figure.

Nice reds Mike (Speaking as someone who seems to be doo=ing a lot of red tunics recently!) :)

That is very nice Mike. Personally I've always found painting "parade" figures much more difficult than those in field conditions. There's no hiding behind mud and weathering.

A very nice paint job. I like it. One minor detail though. Guardsmen don't wear gloves in tunic order. Only Sergeants upwards wear white gloves in the summer months.

These are my favourite kinda figures.
Quiet and understated - so much so you can almost miss it - yet painted to a wonderful standard.
You've hit what I always aim for.
    Superb.

Thanks Sir! I know that feeling!
    Thanks Ralph!
Rodger, I have to agree with you. Much more difficult. It has to be a smoother paint. It's harder to achieve a significant level of contrast.

Thanks for the comment Marc. I'll have to look at the lighting on the next figure. Pictures are always hit or miss for me.

    Thanks for the comment Jeff!
