    Hi all,
This the figure that I am currently working on. It's the zouave from Aurea domus from their artistic line. It's a pleasure of a figure full of details and the cast is very good. The scale is real 54 mm.
As usually I started with the face. All with acrylics IMG_20151112_215830.jpg

You have made a good start and it looks to be a cracking figure.

.again, never heard of 'em but his looks like a cracker.
I know it says '54mm' but is it on the larger or smaller side? I really fancy this one.

    Thanks for the comments.
Yeah, they have a short but very interesting range.
The figure is real 54 mm. So I think on the short side

Great start. I'll follow you. I like this figure since it was out. I had it in my hands and was talking with the sculptor. It's a superb and fine piece that is in my wish list, but there's always something that not allow me purchase. (i never have more than ten references in my grey army. It's the only rule i follow with this hobby. On buy to paint)

Yes, it happened to me the same. But when the guys from aurea domus came to a contest in my hometown I couldn't resist!

One more step. Jacket painted, remaining the red embroidery. Man, I'm starting to hate the dark prusian blue from Vallejo! No matter what you do, even with flat base, it has a glossy tendency. Grrrrrrr:mad:

    The colors that I used

Bonnet and red ornaments done. Below the palette as well. Next step will be the trousers in white

Some advances. The backpack is almost finished. The trouser with the always difficult white just needs some tones and weathering. I always use glaze medium with withe for lights and shadows. I find it easier to avoid the brush strokes that usually appear with this color.

    Cheers

I hear what you're saying about Prussian Blue - I used medium blue and added black to make it darker on my latest. (Still glossier than some, but a coat of matt varnish has brought them down)

Lovely work with the white, by the way :)

Those old style Fench packpacks are almost like a figure themselves... good work there mate.

Muy bueno ese blanco. Me gusta más que el del templario que colgaste recientemente

Thank you Blind pew. The sculping of the mini helps a lot!

Thanks! But I'm not sure. Maybe the pictures don't show it, but I think this white is too cold, too much grey and white and no browns... Maybe I'll add some glazes with different tones to add richness to it.

Turn for the shoulder bag, the gaiters and the shoes.

    Hi

if you use a mixture with withe glue and water, 50x50 , after you paint blue
apply a very diluted pass and let it dry
    you will see that results
    experience in a old figure

    Regards

Thanks for the tip Vitalino. I will experiment in an old figure. sounds pretty strange as white glue usually shines when dried, but, hey! if it works that's ok!
