Its been a few weeks since I posted this originaly, but after a heavy work schedule and man flu I've managed to get some paint onto it.
This is a piece produced by Mitches Models which I purchased late last year, its sculpted by Moz and is cast in resin, the scale is 200mm.
I have already posted the clean up and assembly part of this project in an earlier post so I wont go through this again.
My original intension as an extra for this bust was going to be part of a cannon wheel or gun barrel, but I decided on something much simpler from an idea I got looking on the web, perhaps Mercer while observing the French lines decided to lean on a stone pillar,i always like to do something extra, its just my thing, but the bust is good enough on its own to display anyway.
Priming was done using Halfords Grey auto primer, all under painting was done in GW and Scale Colour acrylics with the metals being undercoated in Darkstar acrylics.
I always start with the eyes and face and work my way down,i still need another couple of sessions to finish the Tarleton and the flesh,i decided I wanted a 5 o'clock shadow on this bust to give him that campaign unshaven look.
The post was just a piece of 20mm x 20mm balsa which I cut a shaped,i then added magicsulp and carved the brickwork and damage whilst the putty was still wet.
I undercoated the pillar in GW white, then stained it with sepia oil paint, lights were then added using pure GW white only on the highpoints of the bricks,i then followed this with olive green oil to replicate the wet moss around the damaged areas and finished with sienna oil streaks.
I plan to post some more updates in a few days.
    Happy Painting,Brian

Many thanks Ron,yes I'm mastering the stone Modeling mate,I love building things like this,it stems from my diorama days, you can pay high prices for scenic parts, when with just a little imagination you can make your own.
Yes Ron,I put some varnish on the tarleton, still a bit of work to do on the tarleton and face before I'm happy with it.
