My favourite figures of this year,superb .

Very nice figures but I (personally) have reservations about this concept of 'kick-starting' which seems to be on the increase and a significant risk is leveled at the potential buyer. Given these figures are a popular topic and clearly superbly sculpted, I can't see why they don't run a batch off and then go from there? I have a few Castle Mins figs, all superb pieces but their packaging is basic to say the least so clearly that's not a significant cost element for production and the masters already exists anyway; hence the pics. They are also an established company so why 'kick-starting' with these specific figs and not the others they have produced in their range? There may be a logical or business explanation for this approach and if so, I would be interested to know what it is?

I may be overly cautious as an individual on this subject, but I was left out of pocket a few years back on this concept of "you buy now and I will produce the kit later" - that was for an AFV subject not a figure - and I would not do it again.

Please note, I am (not) questioning any individual or business integrity at all and my own thoughts are that the product(s) will sell itself solely on its own merits if they simply put them in boxes and send them to the usual suppliers around the world.

Like others, I'm also dubious about kickstarter projects. However, in the hands of a reputable company, it could be an efficient way of ensuring the profits go to the source instead of to re-casters.

With regard to any any specific company, it might ensure that they got back a pre-determined amount before the 'scum' got involved.
Anyway, it was just a thought that crossed my mind (some might say 'not a long journey').

They are both excellent looking figures in a great scale but like everyone else here I don't agree with this Kickstarter method. Its not something I would ever do. Just my opinion folks.
