    Hi all!

Just finished this small but perfectly formed bust of a Padre in the Parachute Regiment during WWII.

As with most of my stuff it's painted in acrylics with NMM for the shiny bits :)

    Cheers!

    :)

Hmmmm might just do a tad more on the beret....

    :)

    Mark,

Great stuff , come on share your mixes for the beret and Denison .

Like the contrast between that and the black with the splash of the collar

    Thanks for sharing

Good to see something a bit different and a very nice sculpt to boot.
As usual great colour mixes and brushwork from you Mark.
I can see where you are coming from with the beret when magnified to this size but sometimes on smaller sculpts that level of contrast adds to the piece.
Either way Mate it's a bloody good paint job.
    A the very best wishes,
    Keith

Thanks guys! Glad you like it! It was fun to paint and all those tiny flaws will get ironed out soon!

    As to colour mixes..

    Beret.
    Based in black
    Next burnt umber
    Then burnt cadmium red
    Finally red

    That's all Vallejo model colour.
The final red is quite dark so looks good for these muted reds.

    The dennison....

Base was English uniform, field grey and khaki over a dark green undercoat.
Then highlighted with the base mix lightened with sunny skin tone.

Once dry the green and brown were layered on.
Green was german camo bright green with field grey at 1:1

Brown was burnt umber and burnt cadmium red at 2:1

Both were lightened with sunny skin for highlights.

Deepened shadows with well thinned smoke and highlights with English uniform lightened with light flesh!
