    Hello planeteers,
Here's another project to be put onto one of the diorama's squares.
I am thinking of adding more drama and action to the scene where the Touraine grenadiers and chasseurs are fighting the 23rd foot.
I have been wanting to do this for quite sometime since i saw one of the perry's 28mm mounted french officer's painted by Oniria .
This officer will be chasing one of the Brits light troops that are trying to escape while others lay dead, wounded or taken prisioners.
I am thinking of adding a wood fence as well and move some of the shooting figs towards the rear, that will give me more room for chaos and action.
The legs are from an unwanted figure, the body of the officer has been placed on the riding horse legs.
Lots of work ahead but happy with the result so far.
    Cheers 20150829_210323.jpg 20150829_210340.jpg 20150829_210426.jpg 3-6.jpg

Nice start Daniel... a little drama can always help wind up a battlefield, yes? Going to add a few foot Frenchies jumping into the chase as well? Little vignettes within the huge dio will add some individual points of interest and intensity.

I feel like this will keep expanding until your whole dining room table is covered and your wife is flipping a coin as to whether or not you sleep in the garage :sneaky:

    Don't let her stop you!!!!

    Excellent work, Daniel:
Your work looks so fine, it is hard
to believe this little vignette is only 40mm.

 :LOL: i wouldn" t let her stop my project , and my garage still has some room for expanding projects .
As for the battlefield, this is going to be more a skirmish than a full scale assault.
in fact, the Touraine Regiment made an diversionary attack on the 23rd foot welsh in order to allow the construction of the paralell lines and siege guns to be used later for the real siege.
My goal for this project is to portray the French Regiments still marching to take their final positions, the wore team up in 2 regiments for the attack, so this action of the Touraine would have happened in the early stages of the siege.
i will add some french and Brits still punching at eachother, some death or firing at the wood fence and chasseurs still shooting, while the skirmish it's almost over.
thanks for passing by colin :)

Indeed, Daniel: As I think back I know that there were time
when I didn't seem to be enjoying it. And failed projects
bothered me. But I finally realized, the main idea is to
have a lot fun doing it. It's the Journey, not the destination!
And I glad to know that you are doing just that. (y)

    Hi Daniel!

The 28mm vignette from Angel (oniria miniatures) is one of the best I already saw in 28mm.:joyful:
I hope you can pass the same feeling in your future work.(y)

    Cheers,
    Pedro.

Hello folks, made a little progress on the officer.
Had to rebuilt the collar, some glue got inside and ruin it , so i work it on that.
Lay the base paint for the hat , face and the areas that were stripped from the original paint.
I already order a horse from front rank , generally a little bulkier that the one showed on the picture. 20150901_220841.jpg 20150901_220917.jpg 20150901_220940.jpg

    Hello folks,
I've decided to modify one of the squares for the whole diorama.
The Touraine attack on the 23rd foot has change a litte...
I took all the figures off the base, repositioned some trees and grass and added a corn field on the extreme forefront and a homemade wodd fence.
I originally wanted to order from a modeller in the UK but it was taking too long to reply to my email for the order, so i've got a little impatient and yesterday went to the craft store and bought some wood sticks.
Ii can say that i am very happy with the result and my wallet too.
I've use vallejo grey wash and then mixed with vallejo smoke and stained the raw wood sticks.
I've been wanting to recreate the musket fire and for a first attemp i am happy with the outcome.
Still lots of details ahead but this is how i am envision this attack on the welsh was and the scenery to look.
    Cheers 20150906_134802.jpg 20150906_140748.jpg 20150906_140756.jpg
