    Hi everyone,
Years ago there was a fantastic sculptor of military miniatures. For me his best work was of the Victorian Armies. Many of you will know Mike French and the super Tiny Troopers range.
I have had the figure of James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan for some time now and finally put some Acrylic Paint on it. As is my norm now the pallet I use ie just the three primary colours plus black and white. Just from the neck up at the moment with more work to be done on the NMMs and hairy bits.
Hope that you like him thus far,
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
Yes, very good figures and his Crimean range was excellent.
You have made a good start and I will follow this with interest.
    Regards

Mike did some great models. Cardigan is one of my favourite personalities. He makes Flashman look laudable. Off the a nice start on this one!

I have manufactured two sabretache to the original blank pattern.
The first has been decorated with Milliput and the second I just painted the design free hand.
I'm not too sure which I prefer.
    Cheers Guys

    Keith.
This is looking good, Don't know where you find the time, you seem to have a load on at the moment.
As it happens I watched the 1968? film Charge of the Light Brigade last night. I often wondered why it has not been on the telly like Zulu. I now know.
    But this looks good.
    Will keep watching.

It's always good get some in put from the current Masters.
The lace, so much lace. It is well sculpted but very fine and in places at three levels. My biggest concern is to keep the paint thin so as not to obliterate it by overpainting.
On another line, how is Mum getting on. Good progress I hope?
All the very best my friend,
    Keith

    Hi Paul,
I think that you are right.
I spent a lot of time on the construction of the first one and then changed my theory on embroidered uniforms and accessories. when I looked at sculpted chevrons and rank badges I calculated them to be 2cm in 1:1 scale. To this end I am now just painting these parts where possible.
    Cheers Paul

Many thanks for looking in and making such kind comments.
I too have owned this beauty for a good number of years collecting dust. God knows why with 7 other projects on the go I think it's time to start on this complex figure.
It is a great shame that Mike stopped producing figures but that is life and there are always others, like yourself to fill the void.
    Best wishes Ian,
    Keith
