Moving this on a wee bit .
Made a mockup of the base shape in ply to see if it all fits before cutting expensive wood ; and marked out some contours .
Horse at the front will be changed and need a bit of surgery , final position is almost set just some minor tweaking ; I will cut the contours from the same ply to get a feel for the composition .
The position of the riders in the saddle will be the make or break to give this a sense of urgency .

The name of this piece will be : Escadron du sacre

My count is three; or is it me that should be heading for Specsavers?

That's a nice compact vignette Ron. Looking forward to seeing the interaction between the riders

    Cheers,

I still want to know who the riders are, Just the Regiment will do, don't need their name's and number or inside leg measurement .

    Mick.

Its the, 1st, 'Eau de Toilette', brigade. Very well turned out, the 'Aide-de-camp', was as usual highly respected. :cautious:

Think I will tighten this scene up a good bit more and set it off in a rectangle base with the action set at about thirty degrees , hope this will give a better focal point .
First rider is primed but will only sit him on the horse after it is painted as clanging metal to metal always damages the paintwork.
A problem not so with resin figures

Might under coat all in black as I want the colour scheme subdued , only prob here is it means 4 applications of paint to the finish . primer ,black . base colour undercoat then oils , but all the prep will be done with airbrush and then going to oils with the real thing:)
