I called this one done this morning. He is Darkstar Miniatures 54mm Highwayman, although he is a bit on the large side for 54mm, more like 70mm (no complaints though ;)). I believe it is based on an old Stormtroopers master (don't be scared to correct me if I'm wrong). Detail was a bit vague in places, especially on the little bit of face that can be seen but this may be down to its age. Overall though, a pleasurable experience.

Painted in oils (real oils this time, not water-mixable) with printers ink and metallic pencil for metals. The red on the lower part of the tunic and the blue on the left leg have dried with a bit of a glossy finish (but, strangely, not the right leg) but I've given up trying to fix those bits and I'm leaving him as he is, hopefully it'll matt down a bit over time.

    Comments and critique welcome :)

The photos are a bit dark Billy, but from what can be seen you look to have done a very nice job on him.

You are right, it is an ex-Stormtroopers figure. I used to have one painted up but it didn't survive a house move. Might have to add it to the stash again.

Nicely done but I do think that the photos are suitably dark for the subject.

Unusual subject and nicely done. I'm intrigued by the label; care to share how you did it? (I appreciate I might be pretty late on the technique, but I saw something similar at Bath recently and forgot to ask how it was done)

I'd forgotten all about this figure so thanks for posting.
Very nice work particularly the shading on red and blues.
Like the waymarker, helps create the story (y)

Thanks Del, for your comments and also for the nameplate SBS. I think it matches this type of model much better than a fancy engraved plate (y)

The milestone/waymarker is part of the kit so I didn't have to think too much about it. I pondered painting the lettering but in the end I decided that life was too short and I just wrote it on with a fine marker pen ;)
