I like the total composition. I see that you too did struggle with blue color. In reality the bleus are far more dark. Black bleu it was. But it doesn't show on the busts. So I too choose a lighter blue color.
Itdoes the figure(s) more justice and put more emotion in the total picture.

Completed a few more hours today on bust 3,I think another couple of sessions will see this one complete.
