I thought this was kind of cool. It's the transformation of plain base to complete ground work for my next figure.

    All comments and questions welcome.

Very cool, Mike! Nicely painted, and I like how you've done the moss.

Geez Mike, you're pretty adept at manipulating groundwork materials. Looks mighty fine (y)!

Question is, now that the landscaping is done, what are you going put on there :D!

Thanks Joe, you had the first question. I expected to see more questions. Alas only this one. My next figure is La Meridiana Compagina Franca di Marina. Essentialy Company of French Marines in Canada during the French and Indian War or the Seven Years War in North American, There are a couple other names for the war that local to Canada. I'm sure CRF or Colin will let us know what they are in due time. The base represent the Ohio Valley Area or Upstate New York. I looked at lot of pictures of that area and tried to get the feel for the terrain on the base

    Hey Mike,

The base looks very nice. Did you cut into an existing wooden base to create the elevation and then add the groundwork materials or was the wooden part of the base already shaped like that and you enhanced it with putty and groundwork materials? Not sure if that question makes sense after reading it, but I hope you get what I am trying to ask. If you did take an existing wooden base and cut into it, what tools did you use to create the effect of the rocks and elevation?

    Cheers,
    James

    James,

I got the base from Steve Scott in Tulsa. It was already rough cut. I added putty and groundwork material in addition to paint to create the effect.
