Some updates of bust number 4,started on the flesh areas this morning and did some of the bearskin last night,i like to do my flesh in 2x sittings as I tend to lose some of the contrast,i need to add a little medium tone to the cheek areas and so more detail work to the hair and moustache areas.

This bust was a conversion of the George Washington 26th continental army bust Carl Reid sculpted for and produced by Frank Miniatures, the face is original but the bearskin was kindly provided to me by Graham Scollick from CGS Military Figures.
The Knapsack was also provided by Graham but I removed the rolled greatcoat from it as I wanted to portray the bust wearing the greatcoat.

    Hello Brian,
watching your project from the beginning makes me feel that perfection is an easy thing, you make all
of these conversions look so natural so when i try to paint i realise that the pictures have something i dont have
and this is talent, once again your skills are an inspiration for me and a valuable lesson always!
    Waiting for your next step...
    Dimitris.

Many thanks dimitris for those very kind words,I'm glad your'e enjoying the project my friend,I could'nt have envisaged that I would attempt something like this years ago but I've become more confident in the hobbie and in my painting and sculpting,my advice to you is to keep painting and pushing your limits
