Awesome! Have been following WIP's so it was a no brainer how it was going to turn out.

Beautiful. I wish they would have finished the sword though.

I like the pale eye. A neat touch Diego. A cracking bust from Young, who seems to be in the midst of a Roman Revival. Long may it reign.

Great sculpting and superb painting, especially the metals. Not a big fan of that upper gums grimace.

love the eye,not sure about the mouth, I think they got it better with the 5th hussar.

great work of sculpture and usual excellent painting of Diego; But the mouth can not look like ..... written by those who preceded me, you can imagine the idea of the sculptor, but the realization is very "unusual" ...... sin, it would be a masterpiece!

Excellent sculpt and brilliant painting, but it also made me realize why I'm not a fan of busts.....I can't help thinking that grimmace is because he just accidentally chopped off his left arm! But that's just me, it's an excellent release that I'm sure will do well!

the paintwork is superbe,but the teeth are wrong and ugly

My first impression was exactly the same Ben,...it really does look to me like he's let go a massive yell and then "shlop" the wood and ivory dentures have dropped....the rest is a very nice sculpt but I can't see past the former unfortunately.

I guess the question is whether the top of the mouth is easily correctible to the average modeller with adding a wee bit of magic sculpt or miliput to bring down the top lip to cover the gums. I don't think that would would be the best approach because of the moustache. If I had it, I would drill out the top teeth and gums, resculpt the teeth higher and perhaps add the tongue to create an open mouthed yell. Probably doable for most modellers.

Crf - What you say is all well & good but, why should we have to do all that work on a brand new kit?? Get that guy some Poly Grip before he looses his top dentures!! Oh - almost forgot - why back to back Roman releases from Young?? Dave

Just trying to be constructive rather than destructively critical, which anyone can do. It'a great piece save one minor issue and we don't even all seem to agree on that being a problem.
