    Hi everyone,

Have been working on/off on this for about 2 months now. It has been an absolute ba@#$rd to put together. I am now in the final stages of adjusting the right hand and finishing the helmet....and it weighs a tonne!!!!

    Thanks,

    Anthony

    Hi Anthony,

I can see that you've already put a huge amount of work into this kit and that you've still got a long way to go. Hopefully you will persist and see it through to completion and will be happy with the final results. At least the figure seems to be well seated into the saddle.

    Hi Tony,

Thanks!!!!! it really has been an uphill battle...the horse required a lot of work to get it up to standard...and Alexander...what a mess...the original head sculpt was wonderful but didn't match the figure...especially the hair..so I gave him a hair cut....borrowed the helmet from the Alexander Pegaso 75mm figure from my grey army, sculpted what was missing on the helmet...hacked his right arm...have to build the sword.....and then paint it....... not to mention getting the solid metal "cape" glued on :hungover:.

Still a long way to go!!!

    Regards,

    Anthony

Looks to be an awesome figure well worth the effort. Never seen by me before. I am a big Alexander fan. Looking forward to seeing how he turns out.

    Hi Colin,

Its a mix and match really. Borrowed the helmet and scabbard from the Pegaso 75 mm alexander. Reworked the right arm, gave him a haircut, made the sword...tidied up some bits and pieces and voilà......

Now the difficult part...painting it up to standard.......

    Thanks,

    Anthony

I met my wife while we were doing museum volunteer work in '83 when the Vergina tomb artifacts (Philip II) were in Toronto. But I had already done a detailed classics course on A during my time at University. We got to coast through Arrian with a fine tooth comb. One of the best courses I have ever taken. A scratch bust portrait of A is on my to do list.

Can't wait to see the paint go on this. Great job so far!

Hi Kevin, it was not an easy decision but I hated the head and did not like the fact that Alexander was not holding a sword.

the end result remains to be seen....I wish you good luck with your kit!!!

Hi Anthony....haven't followed it too closely but there is not way it is Alexander's. And Philip's has been ID'd so the best one can hope for is a member of the Royal house, a senior official or general. I should up my game and keep a better eye.

Alexandros is a great sculptor and painter and produces superb originals-I only wish the casting was to a better standard. I've dumped every casting bought from this manufacturer due to poor fit/poor casting.

Excellent work so far! Impressive conversion.
May I ask what you changed on the horse?

I just got this Alexandros figure and intend to do it straight from the box. I agree the head is a bit unusual, but I personally I like it because it very well resembles the Alexander on the famous Pompei mosaik. I just don't like the choice of blonde hair on the box art. Makes him look feminine.
Anyway, very much like your adaptations!
