Looking beaut so far, Brian! Great idea to add the wound on his right arm, it will add to an already dramatic pose.
    Nice work mate!

Some more updates from today's painting, still re-working the helmet hair, base colours have been laid in for the shoulder straps and cloves,no blending has been done yet,the carbine has had 2 oil washes completed, still some more to do on this yet as well,I've laid in the blue acrylic basecoat for the water canteen, this will be finished in oils once all upper torso work has finished.
It been really enjoyable painting and researching this piece,i would highly recommend it to anyone interested in napoleonic british heavy cavalry.
Hope to complete a lot more to this over the next 2x days.

Managed to get quite a few hours painting done today, however I don't think I've made much progress ,I'm still working on the helmet mane, done some more shading on the crossbelts and added some dark lining around the belts and sash, done some more lights around the carbine, shoulder straps are almost complete now.
I have managed to complete nearly all the water canteen,i just need to add some more detail on the metal bands around the canteen, the 6th inniskilling insignia was also added to the water canteen.
The gloves I plan to finish tomorrow, the right glove will also have a splash of blood added which will be added at the end.

Not much more that I can say that hasn't been said already.
Only comment is that the 'mane' looks like it needs to be worked on a bit more, it looks a bit too pristine against the rest of the piece.
    I'm saying this as if I 'd have a clue how to do it ...... I don't :D
    Masterly work mate.
    Cheers
