Hi all,
This is just a quick teaser of a fantastic 120mm piece sculpted by Moz, it is based on the Duelists.
This will be a Euro release but I wanted to show as I think he surpassed himself on this one and it was designed as a companion to the Chasseur. There is a big plume to be added.
As said, it is a Euro piece as I have several new releases to come very soon.

The figure looks superb. It catch the hussar arrogance....
Only a simple question... He's wearing the dolman and the pelisse over it but what is representing the part that sort from the left side of the pelisse? Looks like a gilet or similar...

Hussars normally wore the pelisse over the gilet but cannot wear three things in the same moment

I think one of the "Le Plumet" plates (10e Hussards) shows all three in wear at once Ivo, although with pelisse slung as I recall. I agree he looks nice. I look forward to seeing the sabretache side and stance from the front too.

Ridley Scott's film is a source of much modelling inspiration. Is this based on d'Hubert or Ferraud as both appear in hussar dress in the film.

I checked the plate and I undesrstad what do you mean... the mounted officer has the gilet behind the dolman and the pelisse on the shoulder not worn...

due to the cut of the parts was impossible to wear all things together ...

job is great, sculpture is very good... make mistakes it's a pity

It's a great looking figure, and I think it will be great fun to paint when I add it to the collection. Moz makes some really nice figures.

Being spoiled for choice in next few weeks !

Very nice figure. Great subject, well sculpted. Perhaps a bit too big for me... 75 or even 90 would be more my speed.

As to the layers... the gilet is a braided, sleeveless waistcoat always worn under the dolman (bottom loops usually left undone to show the contrasting colours of the gilet). In cold weather the pelisse could be worn over the dolman as a top coat... I believe they could all be worn together... until the wearer gets too fat, like me .

Either way, in this configuration, it just gives us more braiding to paint could be much fun or much pain depending on your feelings towards braiding.

Ivo, I know what you mean and I agree "normally", but in this case, as the Pelisse is not fastened, isn't it still possible?
The gillet has no sleeves, and although the pelisse would normally be worn instead of the dolman, wouldn't the sleeves of the pelisee be able to accomodate it as shown in the model?
From the picture however it does not look too much of a problem to pare away the dolmen on the model's left side leaving just the pelisse and gilet.

here a picture of an ensemble gilet plus dolman, it's an original visible at the Army museum in PAris. Note that the gilet is shorter and the tight cut of the sleeves

No, for my knowledge and experience isn't possible to wear pelisse over the dolman

I agree with you, on the figure should be easy to cancel the dolman
