Spotted the Romeo Models Azuchi-Momoyama Period (1568 – 1600) and Pegaso Kato Kiomasa cast in resin from Hungary on ebay and sell as a pair and singles. The casting looks yuk :inpain: terrible, horrible. I could not believe people is wasting their hard earn money on these craps.

That is shocking, according to some views in order to survive we should offer the high quality originals at the same prices. Comical, but even more so as it was meant serious.
I can just see BMW and Audi lowering the cost of their cars or Gucci the cost of leather goods in order to beat the pirate lol.
Of course it is always the manufactuers fault that we are copied

    Hi mate,
I am not following these threads closely but I don´t know where you got that from.
If somebody expects to get a Gucci product or other crap at the same price of a copy he is nuts. But if he is for whatever reasons not willing or can`t afford a real Gucci product he might look for the copy. If Gucci is in the position to protect their copyright the customers of the faked products finally will have to make up their minds if they really need something with Gucci written on it - and if they do - buy the original.
I guess the minority amongst them will then go for the real Gucci. - So Gucci is not winning customers and gaining more profits but protecting their brand (Gucci is not for everybody...) and price level.
Our hobby is not so much about Gucci in my eyes.
The situation that recasts can be freely advertised and distributed worldwide is due to the distruction of former distribution systems. My local hobby shop or their distributors would not have thought about offering me a copy of a Pegaso kit at times past..... But they were killed by online-shops and a myriad of "online-producers" bypassing the established system and selling hundreds of excellent kits directly to the customer for a nice price.
Now we have recasters offering copies directly to the same customers for a nicer price and there is no longer a distribution system protecting the producers.
    Nobodies fault but reality IMHO.
And no reason for the lament and verbal crusade over here.
All the best - will order an original (German Officer... hint, hint) from your great line soon - maybe a more useful backup for your business than shedding tears over and over again when replying to these threads and cursing about the "bad guys"? - Always look at the bright side of life:).

    Hi Martin,
It was extreme tongue in cheek mate :), there are no tears this end I thought it funny to see the quality after the recent discussion on the recaster thread.
    All the best.
