Hi mate, this is a very important point you've made about the tightness of the group,I don't want to many large gaps between the pieces, there will be a lot of trial fitting and positioning before the final decision is made

Apologies for the break but I needed to do some painting on another project, however I managed to complete some more small steps, nothing major though but I thought I would post up anyway.

The lieutenant I have managed to complete the bicorne and about 90% of this is now complete, all that remains is a little tidying up and i'll be happy,i have also trial fitted the bayonet to the musket and replaced the busts right epaulette.i still need to add rank insignia chevrons to this and the other busts in the next few sittings.

Again for thrusting grenadier,i did some clean up and test fitted the bayonet.

The wounded grenadier,i have now completed the ponytail part of the hair, test fitted the musket which I have pinned through the right hand, before painting is completed of the hand I shall fill in with putty, prime and paint.
Finally as with the other 2x busts I've mentioned, test fitting of the bayonet was completed.

During the next few sittings I plan to add some detail to the muskets and complete some of the muskets straps,i will post my progress on this in the next few days, all the ear-rings where required I plan to add last.
As mentioned above rank chevrons will be added as well,i am still working out the bust I will use for the final grenadier,as of yet I hav,nt made my mind up.

    Many thanks for looking.

I'm just about finished with these 2x busts, all I have to do now is add the insignia to the cartridge box covers, for this I will use Historex eagles and grenades.

I added a lieutenant with the bicorne into the mix,i would like to point out that officers didn't normally carry muskets, but I've seen so many pictures and prints of paintings of the guard during this epic struggle which does show officers with muskets and with swords and horses being lost in the heat of battle its quite possible this could have happened, also it was normal practice for the rolled greatcoat to be worn over the officers left shoulder, again I found prints showing it across the right shoulder and because this was a conversion of the CGS French dragoon I decided to stick with it,or it would have meant removing it and sculpting a brand new one which didn't seem practable to me.
A gorget was added to the neck area made from magic-sculp.

The sergeant just needs the insignia added as well, rank chevrons were applied with magic-sculp,I also sculpted a Gourd (water bottle) which were very common with French soldiers, there were many different types, officers sometimes carried a flask which is what I added to the officer, this was a kit part from the French dragoon, the cords were added with lead wire.
I also addede the buttons for the bicorne cover which is strapped to the sergeants knapsack, these were added with magic-sculp.

The musket straps were cut from aluminium sheet and detailed with 15amp fuse wire for the buckles,i also added some musket stock details to the muskets, the bayonets were kindly supplied by Graham at CGS.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Ron Clark for his help with the musket straps and screws, also to graham scollick for his continued support throughout this project.

    Superb progress Brian.
The addition of the bits and bobs, chevrons etc, has mad the world of difference to the individual figures.
Keep up the good work Mate.
