    Hi Guys ,

Here is what I am working on at the moment ...its from AC models of course , I like Andy's style of sculpting , sometimes a bit rough but worth the prep being done ....going for a scruffy look for the finished piece.

These are just first couple of pictures of the prep and build prior to priming in black and base coating etc .

Treating this as a 2 paint project the horse first then the rider , did quite a bit of cleanup and filling , current state at the moment : both have been primed and base coated , working on the horse harness then the bandolier and all the attachments to the reins etc ..I reworked most of the head harness and have now finished the actual horse and mane (I will post pics tommorow of this) , but will again revisit it after the adds ons have all been painted .

I have pinned the rider ready to fit to the horse when painted ...many dry runs before going at it with a dremel!!!!, also sculpted the emu feathers and put a badge on the cap the gap under his hat is now filled!!!.......contemplating wether to add a chin strap or not ?.

Also added an apple in his hand with the reins now hanging on the horses neck and also put on flashes on the shoulders ...adding a bit of colour ..hopefully .

Heres the pics before any paint touched it !!!

    Thanks for looking in

Anything Andy sculpts is worth taking the time out to see, he's got a knack of producing real character in his work (y)

Great start Kev - I will follow with interest...

Good start Nap. I think the apple in the hand is a good change.

Just check the alignment of the metal bit in the horse's mouth. The bit brace should run parallel to the mouth as in the photo.

Thanks Tony ...the bit is going to be a pain as the horse is fully painted ..thanks for pointing it out though....hopefully I get away with it like it is , other references of reenactors with horse head in similar position show it as I have it ...not a horsey person!

    Thanks for looking in

The horse is "finished" but I will revisit it again after doing all the harness etc (the horse does have a slight sheen to the coat):

I have used different basecoats for the leather so I can add a bit of interest ...hopefully to an otherwise functional uniform colour!!
