Same as embroidered stripes in front and belts - it seems.

I've seen this bust in the flesh and it is a stunning piece. The paintwork is excellent and the detail in the medals (Kevin's favourite bit) IMO is superb. Kevin always researches his subjects well. You only have to look at his reviews to see that. The bearskin may sit a bit high but speaking as an ex ordinary rank squaddie how many times have we been given kit that doesn't fit? I'm sure that happened then as well as now.

    Hi Guys,

Happy Christmas to everyone ....after a hectic day ..last minute panic as usual!!..got round to doing something on this again as suggested by Gaudin...

    the cheverons are all detailed....

the red details are on both tassels and .....

all the buttons have a representation of double headed Eagles on them......

Dimitry I suggest sculpt them on before you set about this piece!...much muttering from me when painting ..but pleased with results.

Will post better pics if I can move after the roasted Ostritch I think Carole is cooking ..there is only 3 of us!

Wooden parts done on rifle , according to what I can find all the metal work is white metal with no brass ...so this will be next to do then it's the strap on the rifle and another one is done ,,,,,

Off to loiter around the dishwasher now!

    Enjoy the festivities folks

Nap, you are making a killer paint job here.
I am just stunned looming at the facial expression you have achieved on this chap.

I have seen great sculpted pieces and not so great work on them, i believe the painter has the final touch to make a great face or a great disaster, yours deserves a gold.
My compliments to the sculptor too.
    All the best

No, Hendryk, darkest green. In fact, black with a green wash will be best. Imagine a colour on a magpie wing.
The picture you have ( I think ) - is a faded watercolour print or a badly scanned one. It is one that looked almost blue, I have seen it before.

Nap, for you, when gladiator is out, I will do a chest full of medals. Just reseach what you want , LOL
