    Hi Everyone,

I have tried something very different from my usual stuff. Spent ALOT of time figuring out the lighting and tried to get the correct effect. The scene is about 60% finished, but after 3 hours today fiddling with the light sabre I am very very happy with the results. Once again sorry for the bas quality of the pics.

    All comment are welcome.

    Thanks for looking.

    Anthony

p.s. I have no idea where the yoda figure originates from, it was given to be by a friend who recently decided to quit modelling (bad for him...good for me).

I love it. You have captured the lighting very well indeed. You have a great eye for light and contrast. Sooo jealous! (y)

That lighting effect looks great, both on the sabre and on the surrounding bushes. Congrats

Very nice painting with amazhing light sabre effect. BTW, I think the figure was from Knight Models range when they still had the right to produce SW stuff.

Thank you all for your great comments and consequent motivation, this is the first time I have tried something like this and to be honest I am chuffed with the results!!! Still got a long way to go before it is finished though . I hope I can do it justice.

    Thanks,

    Very well painted light effect!:wideyed:

PS: Disagree with your avatar motto though, Norris has just that tiny amount of inherent Chuckness which makes him more manly than everyone else (he also has a beard). :D

Hey Manfred, thanks for your great comments.

As for the avatar, I am afraid I will have to stand by Jack (although you are correct that Norris has just that tiny amount of inherent Chuckness which makes him more manly than everyone else - he also has a beard)... Jack is just more ruthless - on a head to head I think it would be a tough fight but "Jack" would finally beat the the "chuck" out of Norris. :nailbiting:

Excellent stuff there mate.. It does us lll good to do something totally different sometimes. Keeps things fresh. From the pictures, the onlt thing I'd consider at this point, is to deepen the deepest shadows that face away from the lightsaber, which would add to the contrast from the light it gives off. I hope you can see what I mean.
I am actually wearing my wookie costume as I type......

I would reply in wookie, but it is pretty rusty!!! Thanks for your thoughts and comments.

Getting the contrast of light betweeen the two sides has taken up a lot of time in the planning stages of this little vignette. I have fiddled a great deal with the shadows facing away from the lightsabre, the pictures don't really capture the tones - so I hope when I finish the project and get the "good" camera out they will show up properly. I am trying to avoid fading them entirely to black - I did that originaly and it just looked very very flat.

    Thanks,

    Anthony
