Hello folks, here's a other officer of this excellent sculpted line of old figures.
In this case, i am painting a flag bearer of the swiss regiment in french service Salis Samade.
This Regiment had the traditional red coat ( same color for the Irish Regiments) with lemon yellow lapels , cuffs , the horizontal pockets wore piped in white and turn acks in white with Fleur de Lys in the facing color.
    regards

I like this uniform combination of red and lemon yellow... What is your recipe for this shade of yellow?

    Thanks my friend!.
I normally use flat yellow from vallejo and a dab of any violet or purple acrylic , i like to start the yellow a little dark so i could work my way trough either just yellow or lemon yellow.
After the base color dries up, i add lemon yellow to the mix.
for the last lights i use citadel Edge paints "dorn yellow", it is a very pale yellow but gives a nice finishing touch for lemon yellow.

I decided to lay the base colors for the coat and facings.
sometimes i start from the hat to the lower parts, but depends on the subject i like the idea of painting the main body and work my way up and down.
base colors for the coat i've used vallejo flat red #957
I mixed up with a little of van gogh water color permanent deep red to add a little bit of life to the vallejo red.
i find that in general, andrea or vallejo when dried out they look very dull on the reds.

    Good morning Eduardo,
The flag i want to use is the colonel flag, the reason is that the regimental flag has too many colors and the uniform is already quite a colorful combination , just to make the overall figure flag more attractive in my humble opinion.
    Thanks for watching !

That is a colorful flag Daniel. I too am not up to the abilities of Ivo Preda, especially as to reproducing flags. As a result, I have ordered several flags from my friend John Sanheim in Milwaukee. They are superb. They can be bent, made to look battle worn, etc. Thanks to me (and my collection of the RIGO AR series), he has several of the French ancien regime etendards. Unfortunately, he doesn't yet reproduce that particular Swiss regiment (although it is possible). Send me an e-mail and I'll send you the particulars.

    Hello Folks,
Made progress on this swiss chap.
Coat and lapels are virtually done, hat done except cockade.
Red is not an easy color, so i have tried so many shades of it and i am ok with the result, not completely happy but acceptable.
I will follow with the face, x-belts and gaiters next.
    Cheers.
