Nice idea for this bust, its a great kit and needs some pretty specific painting to bring out the fear in his face, but I am sure you can handle that. The diorama is something special, just make sure you can see enough of the busts face to bring out the emotion

Brilliant idea as always, Brian. I love how you never settle for painting a figure (and your painting is top notch), but create a story using the base too.

    Great idea Brian.
Thanx much for the SBS on creating the stone walls. Your techniques are easily transferable to any scale. Now you have my head churning with ideas, ouch!

    Very helpful indeed

Hi Ron,thanks for the kind comments,I love using plaster board for modeling buildings and masonry,it cuts easy with a Stanley knife,it can be shaped / sanded / scribed really easily,it's perfect for what I want and it's cheap,it takes primer and model paint very well.
When you strip the paper off it it's no different to the Verlinden buildings I purchased in the 80s,with a bit of imagination and some balsa you can create most structures.
I don't do 54mm stuff much now but the 9mm board would be perfect for that.

Hi Ben,many thanks for your comments,I have turned the bust slightly to allow more light and I will take photos looking up into the face, before the final fitting after painting I plan to take a series of photos of the bust 360 degrees of all the painting.

Many thanks nick,I've been asked many times about the ideas I use,I can't put my finger on it to be truthful,I always set out to do something different with each piece,it wasn't hard with this piece as the pose has him praying,so it was an obvious choice to do a chapel backdrop
