Picked this up at Figure World from Steve at SK Minitures its the (former Ademola)

British Infantaryman describing the French Calavary charge at Waterloo



I won't give loads and loads of information as I am sure you are pretty informed about this famous calvalry regiment .

The figure is contained in a strong box with ample packing to protect the 16 pieces , The kit is in light resin and is cast very very well with crisp defination and detail .You will notice that the pictures show it in gray but that is due to me giving the kit its under coat .
It's a clever combination of horses head and neck and the conventional half bust figure , the Calavay mans head is in a slightly lowered position as almost in deep thought , perhaps this was the morning of Waterloo.
The horses head with sculpted horse tack is very well sculpted and the head is slightly turned to the calvaryman .
The horse bust is supported on a a bar and horse shoe keeping the equine thread ,a very nice touch .
A little bit of filling on the left arm is required as with the ears and neck addition of horse but not much.

I think this looks a very very nice kit and will be my first foray into the French Calavary period so please be gentle with me lol .
For all the Napolianic period enthusiasts this really would be a lovely addition to your cabinet .

Thanks for this review, i had gotthe Ademola one's and bought one SK, for Ademola it was a Polish Cuirassier, the 14th regiment !

14th Cuirassier Regiment (610 men in 2 squadrons) – Colonel Malachowsk The Poles formed one regiment of cuirassiers but Napoleon felt that they were too expensive and suggested chasseurs or uhlans. So the King of Saxony (the head of the Duchy of Warsaw) issued decree that directed the conversion of these cuirassiers into chasseurs. Poniatowski attempted to persuade him into converting the cuirassiers into dragoons but the King repeated his statement. Poniatowski agreed but added that it wil take a long time due to practical obstacles. Soon however erupted war against Russia and there was no time and money for the conversion- 15th Uhlan Regiment (916 men in 4 squadrons) "
" The cuirassiers were dressed like their French counterparts. The breeches were white leather, the plume was red the black boots were reaching above the knees. The collar was red. The privates wore red epauletes, the NCOs the black boots were reaching above the knees. The collar was red. 14th regiment of the polish cavalry. Raised in 1809 as 10th cavalry regiment of the franco-galician army and integrated at the beginning of 1810 in the polish army.
Cuirassiers

• Single breasted short tailed habit of dark blue cloth, closed by one row of 9 buttons. Scarlet collar. Brass scaled epaulets with scarlet crescent and fringes. Scarlet cuffs with blue flaps (trident shaped, 3 buttons) piped scarlet. Scarlet turnbacks with gold grenade patch. Yellow buttons.
• White breeches. Black high cuffed heavy cavalry boots.
• Steel helmet with black fur turban. Brass comb with black horsehair and tuft. Scarlet plume. Black leather peak with brass strengthening. Brass chinscales.
• White leatherwork, brass swordbelt buckle. Black cartridge pouch bearing a brass grenade. Heavy cavalry sabre with brass 3 bars hilt and iron scabbard, white sabre strap. Polished steel breast and back plates, scarlet padding piped white.
• French saddle in blue cloth with yellow lace embroidered with yellow grenades in rear angles. Square portmanteau in blue cloth laced yellow.

NCOs
Troopers’ dress with yellow or gold rank laces on sleeves. Epaulets with scarlet crescent and fringes entwined with gold.
Officers
Troopers’ dress with gold rank epaulets.
Trumpeters
Troopers’ dress in white cloth with light orange buttonholes across chest. Epaulets with scarlet crescent and fringes entwined with gold. White cuff flaps. Scarlet horsehair and tuft on the helmet. White plume with scarlet top.

I have started painting the figure ,however there appears to be sadly a bit of an issue with the ears and the mane between the ears which falls over part of the harness there is none and looks like I will have to use quite a lot of filla to make the ears fit ? This is obviously an issue and one I was not expecting .
Notice there is lead for the reins with the original kit , none with this one .
I will post a pic showing what I mean with the ears its not something I noticed during the dry fit stage as it was on a sprue.

I was thinking it was me having a moment ,tell me what you think is it ,lol it just seems the original kit the ears seem to sit higher and fit better
This is the original kit it just seems to fit more snug , it just means I have to fill quite a bit and make a mane to match up between the ears

You may have to do him as an officer as troopers had a half sheepskin shabraque and this would cover the pistols .

Yes, it's for the 14th polish regiment !

Chris you have the ears back to front on your kit, that's why they are not fitting correctly, ears should face forward

How about you face the ears forward as it was intended in original kit??? Something tells me fitting issues will disappear and you will save allotta filler
