Started on this last week,a very challenging piece re painting sequence as a lot has to be done pre construction.
As usual the digi camera has washed out all the shading and highlights on the whites .
Might manage to get the first part of the cloak on tonight , the head section I have no idea how I'm going to put this together and paint .
Its a cracking sculpt , engineering and casting from Pegaso



I have a bloody good camera and should be able to take better pictures than these

did you put the arms on before the main cloak or vice versa.

I have two of these Pegaso kits, one done the other, is catching dust! It was the first figure that I actually ever completed! I went for the 'Hospitaller'. look. I failed at the 'Templar'. However, yours is looking really promising!

I was thinking the other way round but unsure as metal to metal rubs even oil paint off so it is a once chance only.

Oh he's a prisoner then the biggest problem with this figure is trying not to rush it as it needs to be done in a set order with filling stages as well as painting in stages .
Having to restrain myself YES Del I did say restrain

Great start on this difficult piece Ron.
I really like your treatment of the leathers, brilliant light and shade details.

Very nice Ron , got this one 90% done myself. Just got to paint the shield and sword then put the arms on, already got the cloak / cape on.

How did you approach the head and hood build and paint, I am thinking you need to paint the face first then the inside of the hood ,attach the face to one half , glue on the other side fill the t5op and paint then fit to body

Ron, totally! .. Treat the face as a separate piece then fit into the hood, as this is very restrictive! The fit is slightly awkward, as is the fitting of the hood to the torso, but if I managed it, it should be a breeze for yourself.

Done this some years ago and it is a great figure to paint, but a pain in the ass to fit. Specially the face and the hood are terrible with the fitting.
Never would do this one again.
But so far, yours are looking good.

Ron, I put the hood together and painted the inside and then once face was done fitted that inside the hood. Thinking back, the face went in at an angle. Didn't need to fill the joint between hood and cape, maybe I was lucky.

That would be better if the head goes in ok without damaging the surrounding paint or the face itself .
It is a bit of fingers crossed with this one , I was a bit shocked when I seen the head setup but I do like the Pegaso stuff .

Ron, I remember reading an article about this figure and the painter/modeller (possibly Hardy Tempest ) and what he did was put some putty inside the hood and it brought the face forward slightly and eased construction. Allways another idea for you mate.

Youre right about this one Ron,i too like steve did this a few years back and the painting sequence has to be thought out very carefully,i left the cloak off until i painted it all and painted the arm seperatley,goid luck with this one mate,its a great figure
