Here I post some work I've been doing around this figure.
The breacan has almost my undivides attention.
However I'm not totally happy with the result... Some input would be nice
I'm not using my usual camera, so I'm not satisfied with the pictures either...

Great piece Pedro! The plaid, skin tones, helmet and the ground work are all excellent!

Pedro, The groundwork looks great! The photo is a little washed out so it's hard for me to comment on the Skin tones and Tartan. His hair and beard look unfinished to me as does his leather belt.

Yes, the photos are a little washed out. As I said above it's not my usual machine, I'm not confortable with it yet.
Mike, the beard and the belt are both done, pitty thay can't be seen.
The skin is also washed out... My main problem is the tartan...maybe it's a little dull...

Forgot to mention that the base is by Mr Ron Tamburrini, with an angled top. Very usefull for this type of ground. When the figure is done I will show the full base.

Hi Pedro this looks great. dont forget that tartan colours in these times were not as bright as they are today, their means of dying cloth was not as good, perhaps a bit more shading and highlighting on the tartan might make it pop a bit more

Overall I think it is looking rather great, despite the washed out pics.
I see what you mean about something missing though. It's hard to say based on the pics but I would suggest to increase the contrast by adding extreme shadows, like Paul suggests above, and by highlighting the lightest green a little on a FEW selected places. And you could add some wear on extreme edges by mixing in some Iraqi Sand to the base mix. It just needs a bit more 'pop', other than that it looks great.
My compliments on the regularity of the pattern.

Looks awesome so far Pedro... Great skintones though I agree with Ron that some body hair would be a good touch... Those Scots are hairy buggers.

The tartan shouldn't look too crisp. As mentioned the patterns were plainer than today and the dyes weren't as bright. I think by fading it and weathering some you'll get a realistic effect.

The base and groundwork are outstanding... I love the angled cut on the base... very well done.
