The piece doesn't actually say Normandy anywhere I have seen even though it was released on the anniversary. I think the box art says WWII only, so if it's accurate for Market Garden all is well. I will get one if these just because it's such a good and recognizable portrait.

It looks like the figure is wearing the m42 uniform. By Market Garden, they were wearing the M43 uniform which is different. If you google the two you will see the difference. Also the 101 had flags on their right shoulders for Market Garden (not D Day).

The photo above shows the aid kit in wear, tied to the top of a helmet net-this is among the earliest known photos showing this practice. It was taken in Normandy near Chateau Colombieres in June, 1944. The trooper, whose helmet was also painted with the white Geneva Cross of the 326th Airborne Medical Company, was S/Sgt John "Woody" Woodrich.

As far as I know Market Garden took place in September 1944. Get over it Jim.
    All the best!

I believe by Market-Garden they were all wearing the flag patch on the right shoulder. At Normady that was a 82nd Airborne practice.

"Get over it"? What the hell? Look, you're obviously the expert. Just go with it. But the pictures posted earlier were from Holland. Look at the uniforms. It's a dead give away. See how many other pics you can find.

Guys? What in the hell is going on?! I post something saying I wish manufactures would stop making a common mistake. Then I get my service questioned and told to "get over it"?! There has been a MAJOR change in pF and it's NOT for the better. We used to see critiques all the time and no one got nasty over it. Especially if the person was right! This is not the of I remember. Several 101st airborne figures have been releases and the first aid pack was ALWAYS the issue. Now you guys are acting like I'm a self proclaimed expert when I'm not. I pointed out what someone else showed me once. And I need to get over it?!

Mods, take this for what it's worth. This place is turning into a joke. Do whatever you like. It's your job, not mine. But when people respond like this garbage, people tend to refrain from posting/ commenting. But hey, why don't I just "get over it"?

    Screw this...

Lets all just take a deep breath now, and remember......it's a field dressing. I'll repeat...it's field dressing.
It's really not that important that we all fall out over it. Put it into perspective.

Now altogether sit with your legs crossed close your eyes and chant....ohmmmmmmm.....ohmmmmmmmm.....ohmmmmmmm and think of a nice place....deep breaths and let it all go.

chaps,i have to agree with waynebs ,post, this is a wonderfull piece of sculpting we do not realise today that back in the early seventies this type of work was only dreamed of ,we are so lucky to have so many talented figure sculptors available, perhaps if he had sculpted an average joe face then perhaps the hollywood part would not have cropped up.
saying that i,m with jim on this one ,i have looked through various books and not seen any evidence, however who knows ,but what i do know is the bust for what it is ,re work it if necessary ,but at the end of the day its a brilliant piece, should we go back to the days when you had to go to a major show or look in mags for the next releases, no ,lets be sensible and enjoy what comes our way. cheers tony

Never the less I think Jim has a valid case to point out or discuss errors, or what is thought to be errors.
Then everyone can decide how important or correct the critism is.

But dont go for the Messenger. Have a civilized discussion about it.

    Cheers
