I have finally got round to finishing this bust duo depicting the legendary Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, some of my fellow planeteers will remember back in march I posted the holmes bust but decided I wasn't too happy with the cloak so I decided I would re-paint it again,it proved to be a real headache for me at times but im much happier with this result although my pattern painting skills really need to improve a lot.
When I decided to paint these I always it was always my intension to display them against a backdrop wall with a Victorian street lamp and possibly a street nameplate,im quite happy with the finished result now and what I set out to do.
The wall section was created exactly the same as the Bill Sikes figure I did last year with oils to weather.
The Victorian style lamp was completed using the Verlinden 1.35th scale Lamposts and Lanterns kit No874,the lamps themselves are cast in resin with the wall bracket being etched brass.
The street nameplate was constructed using white plasticard which was cut to shape then painted.
The busts were all completed using oils over acrylic undercoats.
The base was supplied by my good friend Ron Tamburrini - www.simplesite.com/ron-tamburrini

I hope you enjoy the pictures and the finished result, all comments and criticism are welcome.

    Happy Modeling
    Smudger / Brian

As always Brian a superb piece of work.
There are not too many people who can turn two busts into a diorama. Come to think of it you are unique to my knowledge.
    Amazing vision Mate.
