    Hi Keith,
No, I was going to send you about 10,000 rounds and ask if you sculpt them in packets of 10 for me.;)
Actually nice idea to fill one with loose rounds, would need to pack the box up a bit as this is only one packet of rounds, would probably take about 5 packs just to fill that one.(y) Keep throwing ideas in mate.

    Hello
    Hello Steve mate,
They look pretty good next to your excellent Martini's, yep the shields are a massive improvement. What sanity! Definitely worth the money instead of trying to make those rounds, that would have been a padded cell job.:ROFLMAO:

    Hi Ron,
Thanks for looking in, yes I left the bandage on, I did this for two reasons one to get the hessian sack type texture and secondly I read a couple of posts on here about DAS cracking so I thought it would take that headache out of the equation.

    Hi Chris,
Cheers mate, I am still beavering away, hope to get a lot done as I have a long weekend off.

    cheers
    Richie

Hi Richie, to fill the boxes to give the impression of full ammo, I have seen ammo boxes filled with plasicard just before the top, a layer or two of cut copper or brass & the final layer of detailed brass rounds, certainly looked good, just a thought!

    Hi Richie
I think there was a metal seal in side the box that they had to pull back could have that pulled back which would add to the detail and help with the not having to use so many and have that plastic rod that they do painted up underneath to give bulk .
    Cheers Chris

    Hi mate
    Found this write up
Mk3 Martini ammo was wrapped in a heavy brown paper, 10 cartridges in 2 x rows of five, heads to tails. Sheet size a little under A4 before wrapping. The bundle was then tied with a twine. The only way to open it is to tear open the paper and pull out the contents, not condusive with easy access, In between each cartridge was a fine white (almost tissue) paper to prevent each round contacting together. No use for writing. The twine was it would appear a light blue colour
    Cheers Chris

Any good as mentioned above from another sauce that the twine was a blue colour might have been light to start with and perhaps discoloured in the box with the ammo image.jpg

These are repos of course but from a site in the states that researches old guns and fires and the ammo
Hope it helps ,yurt thinking it might help the ammo situation some wrapped some lose , paper about the place on the floor

    Hi Richie,
I'll get the Misses packing them She is good with the Christmas prezzies and all that.
Seriously though you could take Marks idea and on the plastic card sculpt varying levels of ammo packets to fit inside.
    Cheers,
    Keith

    There you go Richie,
With the packaging that Chris has found and the ammunition you have you could do a really authentic open ammo box.
I am getting more excited about this with every post.
    Great input Chaps.

    Hi Chris,
Thanks for the photo's mate, I think I actually have the ammo box some where? but the Monkey's filing system sometimes ends up like a chimps tea party.
I actually took these two photo's in the Brecon museum. Again I really appreciate all the help and thanks all for throwing ideas in, please don't stop.

    Hi Bill,
Thanks for looking in mate(y), like your dry sense of humour, I have just come back from my club meet and your post gave me a big chimp chuckle:ROFLMAO:.

Mind you, it does not take too much to set off the rest of this weekend demob happy crowd:rolleyes:, now behave you lot.

I like the idea of a few split packets of ammo with rounds sticking out and disguarded paper packets.:) Keith prime the missus.

Now I'm off for a banana daiquiri:dead::hungover::LOL: before the work starts again.
    cheers

    Hi All,
I have been hard it, so much so I have the next four Zulu's that should be undercoated tomorrow (dropped one on the floor and have some remedial work to do) and I am working on the next two defenders. One defender being a N.M.P. and the other a wounded 24th with an assegai in his back. I have decided to leave another out I think, I will have a fresh look at this tomorrow. I still have N.N.C. figure to make also.
I still might tinker around with the placement of some and change positions, once I have them fixed I will pin them into position and alter the ground as I need to, but here it is so far.
    cheers
