It's possible Ken and while Rog's help is invaluable and much appreciated I'm finding it's heavy weather to do I can't see me doing the other one

Steve no pressure mate, it's a hobby and it's about enjoying what you're doing . I know flats are not everyone's cup of tea but it's good that you're persevering and having a go.

I've defined the edges of the surcoat, around the belt, sword, shield sling etc. and the deepest shadows of the same with Burnt Umber.
The Surcoat has had another coat of Cadmium Red.

Cheers Steve, that's most of the colours in now it's a case of adding more depth with light and shade.

Couldn't get them past the vicar. and they're not flat enough, s'pose I could saw them off at the shoulders and give them to Nap.

Church effigies were originally painted weren't they?
