It is, twice a day, there...... and back.

Funnily enough I was just thinking about this, the grey I have put on the armour and mail is taking ages to dry and not covering very well. I have however tinkered with the face a bit more. I'll post some photo's later on.

Okay that's not a problem Steve. If you go around the edges of the face with a thin line of burnt umber or similar and blend it into the face that will help.
Next paint in the whites of the eyes, you can leave the dark colour you already have there as the iris so you only need to paint the right hand side (as you look at them)

Paint the moustache with burnt umber.
I'll post an update on mine later.

I have now started doing the highlights on the armour and mail with Titanium White. Simply put it on where the light will catch and blend in with a soft dry brush.

I think I forgot to mention the base colour for the armour and mail is Cold Grey + a tiny amount of Prussian Blue.
First shadows added with a mix of base + Lamp Black using the same method as for the highlights.
Initial coat of Cadmium Red applied to shield and jupon, is that the correct term?

Reinforcement of the highlights using the same method. I'll leave it to dry now and then the same steps will be repeated to build up the depth.

A jupon is a bit more like a jacket Rog it really appears later on, this is more of a surcoat similar to the crusading knights but that's only if you're being pedantic or fanatical over the whole thing ;)

Is all this clear enough Steve?
Obviously you can use what colours you like but the placement of the light and shade should help.
