Here is my latest work. It's the excellent bust by Life Miniatures of a German Grenadier at Stalingrad. I'm not sure about the glasses so I just left them on unfastened so the client can decide how to display him. As always Vallejo Acrylics and Citadel for the metalics.

Beautiful painting Dan. Personally I think it looks better without the glasses.

Fantastic painting. I have to agree about the glasses, they look a little over-scale to me so looks better without them.

Thanks for sharing him with us (y)

yea I'm still on the fence about the glasses. I like it better with the glasses at some angles and not at all in others. Collectively I like it better with out. I did enjoy making him look ratty and dirty though. Some of you may know the Stalingrad battle is one of my favorite to study and portray in miniature!

Gotta say I actually prefer it with the glasses but got to agree they do look a little overscale. .......Nice job either way...Kevin

The glasses add a nice dimension, but they look a bit large/thick which detracts from the face when viewed head on. Overall look is stunning, wonderful job.

Yea agreed about the thickness, a little too bulky but they are growing on me.:)

I like the glasses and the paint job a lot. Perhaps the cigarette is a trifle too big?

I think something that is making the glasses look odd is that the bridge sits halfway down his nose as if they are sliding off his face. I think I would like it better with the glasses if they sat right. It kind of appears to me that the bridge of the glasses is in the wrong place on the frames, it should be higher up. not right between the lenses.

yea could be Jason. I played around with it a little last night and still kinda got the same effect LOL! Like I said I'll just leave them unfastened and the collector can do as he pleases.

Great job mate...but ditch the glasses they make him look like a toy.
