Well, guys. here it is finished, onto the baseboard, grassed up & a bit of weathering.

Just great!! Those Tommy's war figures a great and this is also a great set of TW!! Could you please share youre way how to paint the khaki because its a difficult one.

All round superb work Mark, amazing.
It is all great but if I could just pick out the green colour that you have painted gun and limber is spot on. I think that this is the only time that I have seen this achieved.
I could go on pontificating this piece all day but will make way for others to add their praises for your work.

I really enjoyed putting this together & painting this set & looking forward to the next release!
A great set if anyone is thinking of doing one & I hope Darren is happy with the way they turned out.

Hi Guys,
well, I put this in the model competition at Huddersfield on Sunday after a debate about it being a vignette or a diorama (vignette being by their rules 4 figures on a base or less or a diorama . After a brief discussion it was placed in the diorama section & went against the big dioramas & I came away with a commended.
It opens a debate with me as how do we see a group of figures as a vignette or a diorama? I would welcome your opinions on this topic guys & see if our views differ?

The problem of whether it is a vignette or diorama is a thorny issue.
It's a bit like knowing when an individual begins meeting. Uruguay had decided during the dictatorship that began from 3.
If the rules of the competition class dioramas, the scénettes from four, unfortunately, must stupidly follow the rules, even if it is silly.
A skit like yours can not be compared to those of as M.VENTURI with more than 20 figures.
Sometimes that would require judges to use common sense in their judgment.

As I wrote in one of my messages when I try to mount and paint this set, I think I would add two dead horses, and surely a box of ammunition over before the gun being firing.
To the ground at that time (I checked), the heat was very strong, the grass "burned", so I'd be less soil grass provided with holes (shells, laborer) and especially slight traces wheel guns.
With the number of cannon shot, the soil should be strongly marked due to the recoil of the gun.
All this is fine, but I have already started, and I get to your level of quality.

I did consider including a horse and at one stage it was in the plan, but I was mindful of cost and aware that I needed to make the set affordable. So, in the end decided not to include one.

However, I would say that horses suffered dreadfully that day, so its right they are remembered.

Luc, I don't think ammunition would have been boxed, the battery was lined-up to move off when the Germans attacked so the only shells available would have been from the various limbers. Accounts from the day stress the importance of the men travelling to limbers under shellfire to keep the last gun firing. As they exhausted each limber they had to travel further to the ones with ammunition.
