I would love to see here more figure painters because this iniciative (of our mate Nap) is very interesting and must continue in near future because is a easy way of sharing methods and references.

Hello Everyone, Nap, your additions look great, nice work on the shoulder boards, and details on the cap. I didnt know you were going to add the shade flap to the back of the cap, nice touch. Loved your conversion. The badge, shoulder boards and everything else seems from the original figure, but allow me a criticism; I think you have to correct the right eye, it seems diferent in shape and left out when compared with the other imho or maybe the photo is tricking me???
Waiting to see some inks on it!

Hey guys, I'm still in!!!
It's marvellous to see your progress overhere and the references are still coming...
I changed the eyes too as it seemed to be very difficult to get them right just from the box.



The cast eyes were closed with Magic Sculp and the eyelids were sculpted in different sessions, the last picture shows the template i used for the lower eyelid (it can be used for both sides if turned over).


The shoulder straps were closed, too: thanks Pedro ;-)
As I will paint in oils over a Humbrol base, it takes some coats of enamel to get an even surface. I have no final decision concerning the pattern, but the first step will be the face and the rest will hopefully develop...

Hi!

I started the jacket yesterday only the lights has on it - shadows will decrease the harsh effects.
As previously mention the base coat of the waterproof jacket was painted with Field grey + Grey Green, this last color gave a faded look like I wanted when to base is added sunny skin tone to brighten.
Sorry for the quality of pics, taken without natural light because the weather is not the best in these days.

Hello Everyone, I have been working on the eyes, and have them, hopefully, carved out correctly. I want to paint the eyes in a position that shows him glancing to the left. After I add the NCO strap to the cap, I'll prime the cap, and the face, and see if I need to make any adjustments. Pedro suggested using lead strip for the strap, which is a great idea, but I can't find it. It's probably buried in my armor model stash, so I need to unpack it and see if its there. I do have have some photo-etch belts that might work though, same for the small buckles on the cap. Hopefully the dimensions will be correct. So, this is about where I'm at, haven't had the time I thought I would for this project, and it has definitely turned into one, but I am having fun. Nap, sorry to here about your dremel accident, that's why I didn't use mine, thought the same would happen to me. Pedro, like the colors on the motorcycle coat, looking great. Goetz, are you planning to camouflage the overalls? Anyone heard from Mark? He was getting ready to paint the overalls in an Italian pattern from his last post. Hope you are doing fine Mark. One for you Pedro, this might help with your shadows, and highlights, or washes, of the Pea Dot camo. More to come. Regards, SG

Howdy Lads, been laid low with 'man flu' & really knocked me off my feet. I had to break into my 15 year Malt whiskey to ease the burden...

Hello Pedro, Thanks for the offer of the foil, but after looking in my old model stash, I found an old Verlinden sheet. It looks about the right thickness for the straps, so I'll use that and give it a go. Thanks again Pedro, appreciate it. Regards, SG
