It was my second attempt tbh, I made the mistake of popping him into my drying box the first time and the result was a flat finish; not what I was after. I used Burnt Umber over a Vallejo Brown Sand 876 base to simulate hardened leather armour and tried to vary the amount of oil paint I removed to (hopefully) give a bit of colour variety to the different sections of armour. Once it's dry I'll pick out the hilights using Brown Sand. I'll post some pics in a new thread within next few days, I don't want to hijack your thread.

Best way is to get it all off as much as possible that way you achieve the sheen ,if your undercoat is just right the lightness will shine thru to give the highlights , you can use a bit of sponge from the packing of a youngs miniature box or similar then go back over with a fresh dry brush to marry it all in the sponge will lift off the absolute high spots.
Make sure your brushes have been dried overnight and any cleaner on them has had time to evaporate .
If you get it just right there should be little need to add highlights per say for the edges of belts and even then the use of a cotton bud can take care of that lifting off the extreme edge of the paint ,and as said earlier you can go back in and repeat the process for the deepest creases and folds .

The pilot is almost finished and I will post an update soon . and yea no artificial drying you don't want to kill the sheen

You Know me far too well Ron.
We still have sunshine unusually, 8-9 degrees. Normally we would have a couple of feet of snow at this time.
This means that we don't have to warm the Vin Rouge before we get stuck in.
