Further to my last posting ive now managed to complete the areas of the greatcoat, for the colour of the greatcoat I've decided to go for a field grey colour, the thing with this bust was I didn't want to make everything grey which is why I opted for field grey, this was a very popular colour during the war periods,to achieve this I undercoated the greatcoat with GW Loren Forest + small amount of black to darken it,once dry I completed the coat in oils,my field grey mix is as follows:

    3x parts Mars Black
    1x part Windsor Blue
    1x part Windsor Yellow
    6x parts Tittanium White

If you find you would like it more Greenish then just add more Windsor Yellow

Highlights were added using the above mix + Tittanium White
Shadows were created using the above mix + Burnt Umber / Mars Black

The snow / frosting effect I've explained in previous posts

The Shirt was basecoated in GW Tallarn Sand, once dry I finished in oils using mix below:

    Burnt Umber + Naples Yellow

Highlights were done by adding more Naples Yellow to the mix and eventually Tittanium white depending on how much contrast is required.

Shadows were added using the above basic mix with More Umber and some sepia added to suit.

I would say I'm about 90% complete on the figure with just some touch ups to complete.

I will be adding a backdrop to this figure which I will be starting on shortly, update will follow

Many thanks for looking and comments and criticism are always welcome, happy painting.
