Anyone know if the waistcoat [ gillet] lace was silver or gold?o_O

I'm assuming silver as the rest of the lace was silver.

Awesome start to this one David! Going to be fantastic!

I agree with Steve... all lace on the dolman and pelisse are to be silver for officers.

Will be following this one with great interest. Dying to see how you approach the horse.

Hi David. I would have gone for a more blueish grey (called Gris argentin in French), as illustrated by various authors.
Anyway, first class paintjob as expected.

An over all glaze of Cerulean Blue oil paint would fix that.

    Hi Paul,
I'm aware of the confusion and debate of this elusive colour but decided to go for the Ridley Scott [ Duellist] Grey!!

I got a lot more done this weekend and can move onto the horse............maybe a black or a dark bay with a dapple.

    Cheers David

    Hi Mike,
I'd be nervous as a kitten washing oil over an oil in case it dries with any hint of a sheen.I'm happy in my delusion that Ridley Scott's 3rd Hussar uniform was OK.:nailbiting:

silver lace is correct. Looking very good. I like the Ridley Scott uniforms in the movie.
