Hello and Happy New Year to one and all,
Just a little conversion to share with you. I did this as a fill in to give me a break from other bigger long winded pieces.
He is a 65mm chap sculpted by David Grieve, more than a few years ago, as a Coldstreamer at the present arms with an SA80 rifle.
The figure is pretty much unchanged other than arms and hands.
Additions; bandsman's wings and music pouch are constructed from standard Milliput and the trombone from brass wire and a turned brass bell. The music and clip are a piece of plastic card with a Milliput lyre clamp.
It's not a show piece but I enjoyed playing around with this excellent DFG figure.
    Cheers,
    Keith

Thank you for your kind comments Guys they are very much appreciated.
Why did I put such large photos on the thread, my stuff is not up to such magnification.
    Hi Kevin,
There continue to be mutterings of David returning to the fold. So fingers crossed we may see some new gems.
    All the very best,
    Keith

You are a tease David..........what one is it?
Thank you for your kind words. I have two more in my stash, both are repeats of ones that I have done before; Coldstream Guards Sgt Drummer (slightly larger than 65/70mm and 93rd Highlander.
    Cheers,
    Keith

    Hi Keith,

A very nice conversion. I wish I could sculpt because I've always wanted to paint a Guards Band Sergeant Major. If I could offer one observation, members of the Coldstream band are considered to be "on the staff" so all ranks in the band wear the large cut feather plume seen on the bearksins of SNCOs and Warrant Officers rather than the bristle plume worn by Guardsmen.

I too am working on a David Grieve oldie, the 1914 Grenadier Colour Sergeant. Was this project some light relief from the Inkerman Grenadier?

    Take care.

    Pete

Thanks for the info Peter.......yet another point I was unaware of. Back to the Milliput.
Yes the Inkerman Bust is at that flat not going anywhere stage but will kick back in after a few days.

    Thanks Pete.
I always get caught out by those little fine details/peculiarities.
I did a legs addition to Carl Reid WW1 Gordon Highlander bust only to be told that my dicing on the hose tops should have been red on the top of the shin not black.
    Cheers again Mate,
