Is anyone who is empowered to do so prepared to deal with these spam attacks over the last twelve hours?

Steve, have a good look at the "welcome aboard" thread mate, the spam has been incoming for at least the last 18 hours now.
Tommi has already dealt with some but it continues.

Ron, check the welcome aboard threads there's at least half a dozen there........look a little more closely.

No....you're dead right Mark. Also one in the SBS section.
Not sure if there can be any automatic system solutions in a forum whose strength is non elitist with open access.
Basically I just ignore them but there is a risk that if they increase genuine members become less active on the site.
In other forums there is a reliance on administrators to 'clean house' a couple of times a day but that brings it's own problems
where guys who voluntarily do the job end up being accused of trying to control access.

Steve it's 6 months since we last saw Gordy. Site has new 'owner' now

Damn. The wife always says I do not pay attention to squat...

It's a shame the "Welcome Aboard" forum is the one continuing to be affected by the troll because many members will be now be reluctant to welcome genuine new commers from now on....shame.
But my original question remains, is anyone prepared to at least delete the ones that currently exist? Not dealing with it doesn't seem to me to be a very effective deterrent.

Hi Folks

All spammer threads now removed and users blocked. Sorry for the delay. Life has been quite difficult for me the past few months so I have not been able to dedicate much time to PF or the hobby that I enjoy, also my internet access has been quite limited although this has now been resolved.

Things are coming good for me now so should be back on top of things from this point onwards and hopefully get back to some painting as well.
