    Hi All,

I present to you a 200mm (1/9) figure of the legendary Hans Ulrich Rudel, the most decorated german soldier of WWII.He was a Junkers Ju-87 Stuka pilot who had the following records:
more than 2530 missions (world record), he destroyed more than 2000 targets including 519 tanks, 13 planes, 1 warship, 4 armoured trains,800 vehicles ,guns, warehouses etc.He survived 32 times (!),wounded 5 times ,lost his leg and Stalin himself was giving 100.000 roubles to the one who would kill him.A special badge of honour was made for him cause he had already won anything else.
The story of this soldier fascinated me and I tried to find a figure of him.
Finally I managed to find a bust and the rest of the figure is made by using several spare parts form other 1/9 figures.
It is not yet completely finished , I need to work more on several parts and I will post more pictures if you like it.
Please feel free to make any comments/suggestions. Rudel 1.jpg Rudel 2.jpg Rudel 3 .jpg Rudel.jpg

    Thank you Colin!
As I have already mentioned this is not an actual kit but since I found the bust, I have decided to build it .
So part of the torso is sculpted, and the rest are from Warrior, jaguar 1/9 parts. It still needs work especially in the eyes and hands......

It's seamless and really good work. It looks like a kit so you achieved your goal I think. Do you think Rudel really scored all those victories? I always wonder if the Germans exaggerated as a lot of their pilots have terrifying scores compared to the Allies.

I can see your point, and surely during war times each side wants to create heroes but Rudel was something else....... Although he lost his leg he continued to fly with Stuka and furthermore after the war he was still involved in military air forces in various countries.
Maybe the number is too much but he is someone who was celebrated by Allies pilost and you have to see what these people are saying for him.

I have an autographs book that states the score of all the major German pilots....there are many with astonishing numbers. I am not doubting Rudel specifically and would never doubt that he was the premier ace of WWII irrespective of stats.

Again great job. I love personality figures as you know and marrying a bust to legs is not for the faint hearted.

Someone once said of him in a memorable quote...."The naziest nazi in nazitown" An unrepentant cold blooded and soulless killer in the pantheon of German murderers.

That's certainly one perspective.....but I don't personally agree that flying a single seater combat aircraft puts you on a par with a member of an Einstazgruppe or a KZ guard whatever your politics may be. Just sayin'

After a point , these people were only interested in numbers and killing people was not an issue for them , no matter where they belonged.I can agree with you regarding his nazi ideals but on the other hand his records, his devotion to his duty ( no matter if we consider it as madness today-and it was) and the opinion that the Allied pilots had for him ,placed him as the most successful pilot in WWII.Undoubtely, he was a personality and that's what I wanted to depict on a model.Generally
I am modelling ww1 but from time to time I like to make certain figures.

Hello Jim, I'ts obvious that you hate the nazi party, germans, and italians, from some of your posts on Fokionas' thread, and others on this site. Please keep your political beliefs off this site, this is not the place to rant propaganda. So please!!! take this tip from Oddball... kellyoddball.jpg Sorry Fokionas, I will post my comments on your figure separately. Regards, SG

DesReichesSoldaten27.jpg Hello Fokionas, I like how you converted this bust to a full figure. I'ts not easy to do, but you really pulled it off. I have read of his exploits, especially on the eastern front, quite a number of tank kills there. Please post some photos when you have completed him. Great work and painting Fokionas. Thank you so much,I will definitely post more photos when I finish.
A bust of him is the only model I found. My inspiration came from his war diary ,which is published and came into my hands.
