    Hi all,

I have a few figures on the go at the moment and this is one of them. The face is pretty much finished in Vallejo acrylics. The coat and trousers will be painted green..

    Thanks for looking.

    Edward

    Great looking face.
My knowledge of ACW is slim at best... is this uniform to be dark green?

    Will follow closely

Nice work on the face Edward, it's a great figure I reckon and I'll enjoy following your progress on this one.

I've always loved this figure but the opportunity to get one has never popped up at the right time..........that's a hint to you Keith!

    you took your time....

Seriously though, primed and partly done, this looks a really good figure, I quite fancy this one. Passed me by when it was out, I'd definately be after one.

good job thus far, good luck with the rest of it....

The uniform is dark green - here's a Don Troiani painting and 2 Bill Horan figures.

Thanx Edward, that's what I thought. There's another Troiani painting that looks much like the first fig... Climbing over the rail fence.
I guess it's the US version of a Rifle Regiment ;)

    Following this project closely

Thanks Noel. The Sharpshooters' uniform seems to have gone through various changes. Apparently at Gettysburg they wore the standard blue union frock coats - see the painting below. I think I'm going to go for the all green uniform though.

There is no question that the green tunic is what marks out the classic image of a Berdan's Sharpshooter. The decision to stay green is a good one.
