    Hi!
Not normal seeing other sculptors work in Metal Modeles range. I think this is a top sculpture with beautiful and some excellent pose and as usual top paint by Mr.Leibovitz.
    Not sure about the likeness.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

Great figure, a must have. I like the sculpture, the painting work and the subject. It would be great a relation of the medals, they are very well engraved, and it´s possible to paint them with great accuracy.

WOW! very nice! VERY NICE indeed! We did Guynemer in this exact pose several years ago but in 120mm. The medals were photoetched and applied to the master sculpt and then cast in resin. From what I can see here ...and in 54mm, mind you?!? the medals and decorations look great!! I'm assuming they were sculpted. I'm sure it was "nerve racking" sculpting those (like when Mike did our 54mm Immelman he said the medals drove him absolutely NUTS). So, KUDOS to the sculptor - an AMAZING figure.
    regards,
    Paul

But do not forget that Guynemer was the second WWI French Aces after René FONCK

Guynemer is the French hero, and the emblem of "l'Armée de l'Air", French Air Force.

Well, now that we have photos of the other Guynemer figures here, a good comparison can be made.

It is hard to beat the beautiful sculpt Tom Sollers did for The Model Cellar. I have this one in my stash and it is an excellent rendition in every way. But it is a little big for display with airplane models! Well, unless you fancy making a 1/15th scale Nieuport....

I have the Manta Guynemer figure as well. It is a beauty with very crisp detail and a fairly good likeness too.

But I prefer this rendering by Metal Models. The anatomy and proportions are superior on the Metal Models rendering. The pose is more natural too. The likeness is perhaps not as good as Manta's but, even at that, there is no doubt who the figure depicts. I will certainly be adding this figure to my stash. Perhaps by swapping the Manta head onto this figure, the ideal 54mm rendering can be had?

Either way, I feel this figure is a must have! And, I shall........ :wideyed::woot:(y)

Superb figure (y) Already have the 120mm Model Cellar Guynemer mentioned above, but will purchase this if Wingnut Wings finally decide to do French aircraft...
