I have finished of this brilliant bust by CGS Military Figures sculpted by Carl Reid. I had Plancenoit in mind when I first saw this bust and have named it "Sauvons Nos Aigles!" (Let's save our Eagles!") Here are the finished photographs, I hope you like them.

Superb Alex from the bust of the year, Carl has captured the pain, pride, affection, in this soldiers face brilliantly, something you have also captured also in the painting.

Superbly painted figure. Perhaps a more apt title would have been 'Adieu aux Aigles'?

Thanks Gra, it's a top, top figure, one of my favourite busts on the market, as Keith says above Carl has captured the emotion perfectly and that makes it easy to visualise the finished effect when you just see the piece in the bare resin. Loved doing it, a real pleasure to paint.

Thanks Ross, there is a detailed flesh mix on my blog
Yes I did paint the pedestal. It is Jo Sonja Carbon Black base painted over with Amsterdam Acrylic Retarder with Prussian Blue, Raw Sienna, Paynes Grey, Celadon and White directly onto the wet retarder which diffuses the paint very nicely and makes easy work of a marble type effect.

Thanks Marc, the nameplate was supplied in usual quick time by Paul and Julie at Name It
