Hi all, just finished this. It's one of the best sculpted busts I've seen and the casting in resin in incredible. It's painted in acrylics.

Exactly. As I said the other week, this is one of those oh-so-rare castings where painting wise, less is more. This is because you need to allow this top piece to shine through with some excellent brushwork, which you have. I think you've judged the skintones spot-on. As well, the restraint shown in not going over the top with the shield has paid off.
    Very nice stuff indeed.
Be even better when it's finished.(y)

I wasn't aware that Poste Militaire ever cast in resin? Mine was a white metal casting.

Great painting, I agree with Blind Pew "less is more" with this one. You've managed to avoid the trap of over-doing it. Warpaint was a long consideration when I did mine but I couldn't bring myself to lose the character in the face by painting it on.

Thanks guys. It is finished now - I too thought about doing war paint but I didn't want to cover up the face! I believe Poste Militaire started off casting the Pawnee in metal and then switched to resin.

Beautifully painted, as always Edward. I'm glad you didn't go with the war paint, it would have been a shame to cover up that superb face.

Many thanks for the comments. Yes, I am planning to bring this one to Euro. Flesh tones were mixes of Vallejo flesh and red leather and leather brown.
