Coming along well Daniel... Is there not some red thread work inside the white lace? Sort of serpentine or zigzag? For some reason that image is stuck in my head. Or maybe that's the old Maison du Roi uniform and I'm talking out my backside... In which case, nevermind

Sounds like your thinking of the musicians livery Colin, there again I could be talking out of mine too.

I believe so, the gardes Francaises lace was white, silver for officers.
i think the only ones that have some kind of red mix on their laces are the brits and scotts, other than them i have not see french units wearing mixed colors on their laces unless we are talking about the musicians....
thanks for checking anyways, always good to have your help here my friend :)

Hello folks, I made a little bit more progress on this guy.
I finished the pants, and the gaiters are almost completed.
Started some work on the lace too.
    regards

I ordered this Balustrade form Mig, the scale is a little smaller but I think I can make it fit the figure well on it.
I will post pics of the figure next to it when receive it.

    Hello Planeteers,
the figure is at a 90% completed, just minor details and re-touches in some ares.
Working on the fusil and belts now.
Yesterday I went to a craft store and picked a base that I think it will be a suitable one for this fig, still awaiting to receive the balustrade and try the whole scene for final touches.
    Best regards

Love the subject manner Daniel (as usual) and that is a nice conversion (I still love Historex!). How do you like the M & A line of figures? I tried to order from Cyrille in the past and had a problem with his site. I would like to order several of his ancien regime figures.
'Les gardes francaises' had quite the checkered history way prior to 1789. Col. Elting once told me quite a funny insight as to what really happened with them and the British infantry at Fontenoy. Their history did not match their 'guard' status in my opinion. But they did have great uniforms and superb colours (as did 'les gardes suisses').
    All the best,
    Jay

    Thanks Jaybo!.
The French guards are not on my list of favorite corps since they betraged their own king and joined the revolt, unlike the brave Suisses who stood alone to fa e the mob and got overruned and quartered.
their elaborate uniform certainly is beautiful.
    thanks for passing by :)
